Robotics: Blessing and Curse?

Change remains the only constant in life, with technology and science progressing through necessity-driven innovation. The biggest transformations in human history stem from four Industrial Revolutions, with the current Industry 4.0 relying on robotics and artificial intelligence as its foundation. Though some resist robotics, it represents necessary progress aimed at improving human life.

The computer provides an instructive parallel — earlier generations struggled to adopt it, yet few today would dispute its necessity and societal benefits. Like all inventions, technology can be either advantageous or harmful depending on usage. Robotics has enhanced healthcare, safety, manufacturing, and logistics while enabling work in hazardous environments unsuitable for humans.

Critics worry robotics will eliminate jobs and harm society, echoing earlier concerns about computers. However, responsible application of these technologies remains essential, making them necessary evils that society must embrace wisely.
